1976年、東京・足立区に生まれ育ちました。幼い頃は地域の仲間と一日中外で遊び、時にやんちゃで優しい先輩や同級生に囲まれて過ごしました。
親戚がアメリカに住んでいた影響で、子どもの頃から何度か渡米する機会があり、「外国は人も街も何かが違う」と感じた記憶が強く残っています。
中学ではスケートボード、高校からはサーフィンに夢中になり、雑誌やビデオを通じてアメリカンカルチャーに憧れを抱きました。
大学ではサーフィンとアルバイトに明け暮れる日々。ついには休学して憧れのカリフォルニアへ留学を決意。サンディエゴの海近くでホームステイやアパート暮らしをしながら、毎日サーフィンに明け暮れ、ハンバーガーやピザを食べる自由な生活を楽しみました。
英語力はゼロに近いスタートでしたが、気合と根性で挑戦したこの経験は、自分に大きな刺激と自信を与え、今に至るまでの価値観を形作るものとなりました。
有限会社コンフォート・ゴトウは、国内外の人との出会いを大切にし、それぞれのブランドを愛情をもって扱い、私自身が経験してきた「文化を超えて心を動かす力」を独自のフィルターを通して皆さまにお届けしていきたいと考えています。

I was born in Adachi Ward, Tokyo, in 1976. During my formative years, I spent my days playing outside with local friends, surrounded by classmates and older peers who were mischievous yet kind. Due to family ties in the United States, I had numerous opportunities to visit the country during my childhood; these experiences left a lasting impression on me, as I sensed that everything—from the people to the towns—was somehow different from what I knew. I became obsessed with skateboarding in junior high school and surfing in high school, developing a fascination with American culture through magazines and videos. I spent my time living in apartments near the ocean in San Diego, immersing myself in surfing and enjoying a lifestyle of freedom that included plenty of hamburgers and pizza.
started with virtually no English proficiency, but taking on this challenge with sheer determination and grit provided me with immense inspiration and confidence, ultimately shaping the values I hold today. At Comfort Goto Ltd., we cherish the connections we make with people both in Japan and abroad and treat every brand we handle with genuine care; our goal is to share with you—through our own unique perspective—that power to move hearts across cultural boundaries that I experienced firsthand.

一般社団法人 「足と靴と健康協議会様」の2026年度 第2回 東日本支部補習講座にて、シューフィッターを対象に「靴メーカーFIVE-THREEGOLFの靴づくりについて」の講演をさせていただきました。多くのシューフィッターの方に、FIVE-THREE GOLFのものづくりについてお話をさせていただきました。
